Continuing Professional Education credits will be available at the 7ICVN for all Symposium sessions in the following areas: CDE*, CME category 1, Registered Nurses (BRN)(ANCC), Certified Health Educators (CHES), Registered Dietitians (RD), and Respiratory Therapists. *Please note that only a selection of sessions are available for CDE. Professional interest in vegetarian nutrition has now reached unprecedented levels; however, scientific knowledge regarding vegetarian diets and their effects on human health is far from complete. The Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition is designed to provide a review of the accumulated findings, and introduce theoretical concepts, practical applications, and implications of vegetarian dietary practices for both the prevention of disease and the promotion of health, as well as for the furthering of research endeavors.
- To assess and summarize current research on plant based diets and vegetarian nutrition as it applies to disease prevention and health promotion.
- To explore and discuss the various applications of vegetarian nutrition research to clinical and public health practice.
- To increase the awareness of the health implications of plant based dietary practices.
